چکیده

Despite substantial advances in robotics technologies, robots continue to be underutilized. This trend is likely to continue for the foreseeable future unless end users can better program their own robots. Robot programming systems must be developed that allow end users (who often lack technological expertise) to quickly program their own robots to perform customized tasks in environments of their choosing. Despite this need, we are not aware of a formal agenda for the development of such systems. In this paper, we begin to define a set of performance standards that robot programming systems should achieve. To demonstrate the usefulness of these standards, we describe a user study in which we evaluated several robot programming systems using several metrics defined in these standards.

Estimation of Concentrations in Chemical Systems at Equilibrium Using Geometric Programming

Geometric programming is a mathematical technique, which has been developed for nonlinear optimization problems. This technique is based on the dual program with linear constraints. Determination of species concentrations in chemical equilibrium conditions is one of its applications in chemistry and chemical engineering fields. In this paper, the principles of geometric programming and its comp...

Ontology for Robot Programming domain

Robot programming requires knowledge of embedded systems, mechatronics, principles of kinematics and locomotion, sensors and actuators, control algorithms, behaviour planning and communication protocols. A complexity of robotics domain underscores the need for developing a domain ontology that describes domain concepts, their properties, restrictions and relationships between concepts. The pape...

Mobile robot wall-following control using a behavior-based fuzzy controller in unknown environments

This paper addresses a behavior-based fuzzy controller (BFC) for mobile robot wall-following control. The wall-following task is usually used to explore an unknown environment. The proposed BFC consists of three sub-fuzzy controllers, including Straight-based Fuzzy Controller (SFC),Left-based Fuzzy Controller (LFC), and Right-based Fuzzy Controller (RFC).The proposed wall-...

Designing Path for Robot Arm Extensions Series with the Aim of Avoiding Obstruction with Recurring Neural Network

In this paper, recurrent neural network is used for path planning in the joint space of the robot with obstacle in the workspace of the robot. To design the neural network, first a performance index has been defined as sum of square of error tracking of final executor. Then, obstacle avoidance scheme is presented based on its space coordinate and its minimum distance between the obstacle and ea...

Toward Process Architectures for Behavioural Robotics

Building robot control programs which function as intended is a challenging task. Roboticists have developed architectures to provide principles, constraints and primitives which simplify the building of these correct, well structured systems. A number of established and prevalent behavioural architectures for robot control make use of explicit parallelism with message passing. Expressing these...
